Operation Toofan – The Narco Hunt is a statewide anti-narcotics initiative launched by the Kerala Police to combat the growing threat of drug trafficking and substance abuse in the state. The initiative aims to take strong legal action against drug networks, disrupt the distribution and supply of narcotic substances, and build a strong public resistance against the drug menace. Implemented in collaboration with the Education, Health and Excise Departments, the mission adopts modern, technology-driven methods to address the rapid spread of synthetic drugs. It also focuses on strengthening digital surveillance, encouraging the public to share information anonymously, protecting confidential informants, and coordinating with police forces in neighbouring South Indian states to tackle inter-state drug networks. Through Operation Toofan, Kerala Police seeks to create a safer environment for the public while strengthening collective efforts to protect children and young people from the dangers of drugs.
